Llyn y Fan Fach is a small lake found at the foot of the Black Mountain, in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. The lake is popularly known for its association with an old Welsh legend of the Lady of the Lake.

According to the legend, a shepherd, named Gwyn, met a beautiful lady while tending his sheep near the lake. The lady was said to be a fairy, and she offered to marry Gwyn on the condition that he did not strike her more than three times. The couple married and lived on the hillside above the lake.

However, Gwyn eventually struck his wife four times, and she returned to the lake, never to be seen again. However, she left behind her three sons, who were said to have had healing powers.

The Lady of the Lake from Llyn y Fan Fach is often associated with the story of King Arthur and the sword Excalibur. In some versions of the story, it is said that the Lady of the Lake presented King Arthur with the sword Excalibur, which he used to defeat his enemies.

Today, Llyn y Fan Fach is a popular tourist destination, and visitors can still see the beautiful lake that inspired the legend of the Lady of the Lake. Whether you believe in the legend or not, there is no denying the beauty and mystery of this stunning Welsh lake.

If you are a fan of Welsh legends and myths, then a visit to Llyn y Fan Fach is a must. Who knows, you may even catch a glimpse of the Lady of the Lake herself.
